We worked with a fantastically talented tile artist to create this outdoor mural with a fresh take on Spanish style. Appropriate for Arizona, this pair of Phoenix birds is a visual feast with custom colors that range from metallic copper to blood orange to shades of turquoise and mottled teal. The shape of the gothic arch, as well as the twining vines we designed, brings to mind the sanctuary of a leafy chapel, while also referencing Venetian and Moorish architecture.

This peacock mural was inspired by the famous example at the Adamson House in Malibu. We called upon a modern day tile artist to translate our design, which was influenced by the great southern California tile makers of the 1920's, Catalina Pottery and Malibu Potteries. The built-in, low Moroccan style seating features custom made cushions with exterior grade foam and Sunbrella fabrics.

Sometimes it's fun to combine styles for an unexpected pop. Here Spain collides with the Southwest with this chest topped by a mesquite and turquoise lamp in a way that just feels right.

Our studio featured an antique French sofa and chair reupholstered in teal striated velvet and accented with ikat pillows. The tribal theme continued with a flat-weave area rug, it's rough texture contrasting with turquoise dupioni silk drapery panels. Modern pieces like the coffee table and Italian glass lamp tilt the room's Mediterranean design toward transitional styling. Overhead, a Spanish Colonial chandelier offers illumination while custom shutters soften the bright sunlight.

This cornice was a creative solution for a glass block window that required a shade to diffuse the intense natural light. A new cellular shade was installed behind the cornice, which we custom shaped to follow the jig of the block. Upholstered in a sueded fabric, the southwestern styling was enhanced by braided cord trim and hammered iron decorative studs.

Silver silk pillows adorn a black leather sofa in a room that fuses Space Age Moderne with the crystal sparkle and mirrored surfaces of glamourous styling. The contemporary rug features metallic circles reminiscent of planetary rings.
Chrome and brushed stainless steel form a continuum with the greys and silvery blues of the lounge, illuminated by a Sputnik style light.

This chair was reupholstered in a wonderfully graphic fabric shot through with metallic threads, referencing the silvery brush fringe on the pillows.

This English Tudor dining room in Portland features plaid silk balloon shades, raised-relief Anaglypta wallpaper in a classic acanthus leaf pattern, and an antique mahogany Chippendale style table. A vintage crystal chandelier is suspended beneath a ceiling medallion, faux-finished in a tobacco glaze. The traditional feeling of the room's design is given levity by the addition of wicker chairs and a patterned sisal area rug, contributing to the gardenesque feeling.
