Our clients asked for a sleek and sophisticated transformation from the original guest bathroom. The 80’s were notable for some interesting (though sometimes questionable) styles, including vanity heights that were too short for most adults and in this case, impractical wall to wall carpeting. New floor tile now flows seamlessly from the bathroom into the hall, part of the continuous flooring upgrade for the entire house. We elevated the new counter height and the feeling of spaciousness by taking the backsplash tile all the way up to the ceiling. A walk-in shower replaced the tub and was moved to the opposite wall, switching places with the toilet and maximizing the usable space. The classic simplicity of Shaker style cabinets does not compete with the clean lines of the hardware. Crisp, graphic tile elements provide an unexpectedly dark mystery and shimmer, defining this glamorous modern concept.
